Once upon a time...

... we met each other at the office 16 years ago! SPARKS 💖💖💖 The romance that grew was out of our control. We tried to keep it a secret for a while. Because, hey, it would have been a lot of hassle if this wasn’t something for the long term. But that cheesy office romance turned out to be something truly remarkable.

We had both just moved to Amsterdam and discovered the city together.

Looking back now, it was a magical decade we spent in Amsterdam; the hot summer days and festivals, the nights at Café Mulder, the endless bicycle rides, the long evening strolls in winter, all the cinema visits, the boat trips (do you remember, Mark?)

The breakfasts outside, the BBQs in the park, the slightly tipsy nights, the concerts, the house parties. We loved every second!

Travel and then travel some more

Next to Amsterdam, there’s another thing we both love: travelling. And oh, did we travel… For a decade, we explored nearly every corner of the world.

All we needed was a backpack and each other. For months on end, it was just us, our backpacks, and the endless freedom to roam: from a motorbike trip into the favelas of Rio, to ten days of hiking in the Himalayas in Nepal, deep-sea diving in Asia, 54 days of camping accross Africa, van life in New Zealand, and the surreal landscapes of Patagonia.

And then we got company...

After almost ten years, we were able to conclude that there might be something serious between us. You’d think so, right? Could we be happy with just the two of us for the rest of our lives? The answer was probably yes (it certainly would have made our lives less complicated). But we are so so happy and grateful that Lucy and Maeve have joined the party.

After holding Lucy and Maeve for the first time, it became so very clear. We discovered a whole new kind of love for two amazing little humans, and each other. Learning to know each other anew not as the young lovers, travel companions, but as parents and still love each other fiercely.

Now, it felt right...

We decided it was time. We say “we”, because we actually both did, without knowing of it! Honestly, we didn’t discuss it for years!

During our road tripping holiday in the the U.S., we both had a sneaky, secret plan to propose. Not because we needed to, but because we both figured it felt right to take a moment and celebrate the special love we think we have. Why wouldn’t it be for us?

Eddie just beat Annie to proposing and went on one knee in Yosemite. Still shaking, right after just seeing bears passing by, Anne said YES!! At that moment Anne also confessed she brought a ring of her own! Can you imagine?

Now you might think. “How long have you two been engaged? That’s ages ago, right?” Very true! Maeve decided we should hold-off just a tiny bit longer, just so she could join in on the fun as well! And you know what? We wouldn’t want to have it any other way! It is time to celebrate!

Let’s get married!
